England Family Sells Interest in Equinox Owner Operator Solutions

Equinox Owner Operator Solutions (http://www.equinoxbusiness.com), a leading provider of back office solutions for Independent Contractors, has been sold to Lawrence & Johnson Holdings, LLC. Equinox President, Colton Lawrence and former COO, Travis (TJ) Johnson, both founding executives of the company, came together in forming Lawrence & Johnson Holdings with the express purpose of purchasing Equinox.

Equinox provides accounting and tax services for Independent Contractors and Owner Operators in a variety of industries. In addition to accounting and tax products, Equinox offers a turn-key SaaS product for companies who rely on the contractor model. This product allows companies to create customized workflows; streamlining the on-boarding and training process. Equinox was previously named to Utah Business Magazine’s Fast 50, Mountain West Capital Networks Fastest Growing Companies, and Inc. Magazine’s Inc. 500 List of Fastest Growing Companies. Mr. Lawrence was also recently announced as a member of the fourth class of American Trucking Associations’ executive leadership program, LEAD ATA.

In his new role as Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Lawrence commented, “We couldn’t be more excited for the opportunity to purchase Equinox from such a great family. The England’s have provided tremendous leadership in driving change for the transportation industry over many years. It is an honor to continue that leadership as an owner of Equinox; moving forward with an eye toward supporting the independent contractor model.” Lawrence continued, “We need to do all we can in facing the onslaught of regulation and litigation that continues to damage free market principles. Numerous industries rely on independent contractors for the delivery or fulfillment of their products. At Equinox, we will continue to lead the charge in protecting this model by providing contractors the tools they need to succeed.”

“Equinox is in great hands,” C.R. England President Josh England said. “Colton and team have done a tremendous job building Equinox and supporting the independent contractor model over the years. We are excited to watch as Equinox continues to grow under new ownership.”

The transaction was effective October 10, 2016.
